STUDY
ON CEPHALEUROS VIRESCENE, A PATHOGEN ON TEA PLANT FROM TEA
GARDEN ON DARJEELING, WEST BENGAL
|
ABSTRACT: Cephaleuros is one of the most
studied green algal genus among the Trentepohliales, in
part for its worldwide distribution, in part for the
obvious presence on and sometimes damage to economically
important host plants. It has been reported in the
tropics in several host plants causing significant
economic damage in several crops including tea which is
commonly known as red rust of tea. In this work a brief
emphasis has been taken on this disease especially on
the symptoms, etiology of the pathogen and also on the
control measure.
