ABSTRACT: In mammalian system conformationally altered proteins are the causative agents of number of critical diseases. These diseases are classically known as prion related diseases. Importantly, mechanisms of such altered protein generation is poorly understood, even though, these diseases are the major problems of today's clinical world. Conformational alterations of proteins happen because of innumerable reasons. Knowledge on therapeutic aspects of these diseases is limited and is yet to find out suitable clues in combating them. However, many interesting findings have been generated that show hopes to encounter with these diseases.
